"We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Integrating Personal, Relational, and Social Change

Personal change leads to transformative social change. It requires courage to examine the beliefs, assumptions, and implicit bias that contribute to suffering in our lives, in our relationships, and in our world. Awareness, compassionate perspective-taking, and a willingness to face discomfort while holding ourselves and others accountable are necessary to bring about healing the divisions within ourselves, in our relationships, and in our society.

Culture change addressing racial and social injustice requires the courage to take new perspectives, learn new skills, be willing to make mistakes, and to keep trying. We must work together to recognize the harmful actions that exclude, negate, and/or harm historically marginalized groups. Together, we can take concrete steps to prevent further harm, one action at a time.

Riverlight offers workshops aimed at enhancing personal awareness, increasing understanding, and developing practical skills and strategies to create a culture of inclusion and equity.

Riverlight workshops are dynamic and engaging. You can expect clear, direct instruction, ample discussion, and lots of opportunity to practice new strategies and skills, all delivered with authenticity and sprinkled with a fair bit of humor!
